Every blogger likes to be linked to. We love seeing our posts being mentioned on someone else’s blog. After all, we put the time and energy into writing so people can read and enjoy! Back on Day 6, we linked to a blogger in our niche, but today we’re going to take that concept a step further and link to a whole bunch of bloggers in your niche. Why? Because when you’re trying to build your personal brand, you need a lot of people to know your name, and when you link to others, they will most likely click over to your blog to see who you are. Make sense?
Today’s assignment
Write a link post that shares some of the best blog posts you’ve come across recently. You want the posts to be fairly new (less than a month old) and be sure to say a little bit about why you liked the post or why your readers should click and read it, too. You can share as many or as few links as you like, just make sure they are relevant to the topic of your blog.
You could even have a weekly theme where you link to certain types of posts or just do an occasional round-up of great posts in your interest area. For instance, Matt Cheuvront over on Life Without Pants has a theme every Friday on his blog called “Friday Quick Hits” where he shares links to other blog posts and cool stuff he finds on the web that week. The possibilities are endless, so feel free to be creative! Remember, the more you can do this, the more attention you will get from other bloggers in your niche.
Once you write your link post, share the link in the comments! Was it difficult to find the links in your niche?
Note: Please tag your posts with “31bnb” to make them easier to share with us.

I decided to write about some of the things that caught my attention this week. Two 31BNB participants, Adrianne Russell & N.T. Mitchell, are included.

I linked to one of my favorite blogs last week. Take a look! http://wp.me/p11Rgx-1X
I talked about my fave posts so far, one of which is a blogger doing the 31 Day Challenge as well and happens to be a friend of mine! Happy Reading!

I'm not sure what my niche is. My expertise is youth development, social justice and nonprofit management specifically in the District of Columbia. I suppose I already did this earlier in the month with my “10 Blogs for DC Changemakers” post http://fusedc.org/2010/08/06/10-blogs-for-dc-ch…. Still, I'm trying to think of another post topic because I like this assignment…
I read and comment alot but rarely keep track of where I've been. So this is going to require that I start being a little more organized in my internet and blog browsing. Also this gives me a great theme for Wednesdasy, as I've been looking for some topic to be my mainstay for that day of the week. I will be back later on to post the piece but it won't actually go up until Wednesday morning. Thanks again for another great idea.
Ooooh this one will be easy for me!! Since I use Google Reader to follow blogs that I am interested in, I always “Star” or “Share” the ones that I think are noteworthy or that I want others to see!! I will be back with my list a little later!
