Day 9: Write a “How To” Post

In the blogging world, “how to” blog posts are right up there on the popularity scale with list posts. People want you, the amazing expert blogger, to teach them something that they didn’t know before. As Copyblogger points out:

It’s no secret that “how to” articles and blog posts are some of the most sought after, linked to, and bookmarked content online. People want useful information, and they’ll reward you by promoting it to others when you provide it.

Today’s assignment

Write a blog post in the “how to” format. Be sure to review your purpose statement for this one and really think about what you want to be known for through your blog. Think about writing a “how to” post that positions you as an authority by helping people in your niche solve a common problem. Or maybe you might focus your “how to” post on one of your main interests and teach your readers something new about that topic.

Here are a few examples of “how to” posts from some of the most popular blogs out there on the Internetz:

Once you write your “how to” post, share the link in the comments section below!

Note: Please tag your posts with “31bnb” to make them easier to share with us.

  7. It's so cool that you enlisted the help of a guest blogger! Not only can they help you keep fresh content on your blog, but also expand your readership to others in your niche who may be familiar with your guest blogger.

Ok, I'm definitely behind, but in an attempt to catch up (and just because I thought it might be interesting), I thought I'd write a blog post that is in the form of a how-to but also a reaction/link to someone else's blog post (and the third comment that I promised that I'd make on a new blog): http://www.medicineforchange.com/how-to-sex-ed-…
